The lithium-ion battery and energy storage industry is expanding rapidly.

According to GGII statistics, China's total lithium-ion battery shipment reached 1.2 TWh in the first half of 2026, representing year-on-year growth of over 50%.

The energy storage segment recorded particularly strong growth, with shipments reaching 485 GWh and increasing by more than 80% year on year.

As market demand continues to grow, energy storage manufacturers are maintaining high capacity utilization. Top-tier players register utilization rates of around 92%–98%, while second-tier manufacturers remain at approximately 90%–95%. This high utilization also puts greater pressure on production efficiency and process stability.

Large-Format Cells Bring New Challenges to Mass Production

Alongside capacity expansion, cell formats are also being upgraded.

The previously common 300 Ah cells are gradually being replaced by larger-capacity formats. Cells with capacities of 500 Ah, 600 Ah, and 790 Ah are increasingly being adopted in newly built production lines.

For these large-format cells, the increased electrolyte filling volume places higher requirements on filling accuracy, flow rate, temperature compensation, and pressure control.

Traditional filling equipment may face greater process fluctuations under high-flow and high-speed operating conditions. Temperature changes, pipeline pressure variations, equipment start-stop cycles, and other factors can all influence filling consistency.

Online Temperature Compensation and Pressure Detection for Large-Format Cell Filling

To support production line upgrades, Guangzhou Ascend has launched the FSH-CF200 / CF500 high-capacity constant-current filling pumps.

As new members of the CF series, the CF200 / CF500 provide higher flow rates than the CF150 series and are designed for high-speed filling applications involving large-capacity energy storage cells and power batteries.

The equipment is factory-fitted with two key hardware components:

      • Online real-time temperature compensation module

      • Online real-time pressure-detecting sensor

These components work with a dedicated dual closed-loop temperature-pressure control system to reduce process fluctuations caused by temperature and pressure changes during electrolyte filling.

      Online Real-time Pressure-detecting Sensor

Online Real-Time Temperature Compensation Module: Managing Filling Deviations Caused by Temperature Changes

Electrolyte filling accuracy can directly affect battery consistency, cycle performance, and production yield. Temperature and pipeline pressure variations are therefore important factors to consider in large-format cell manufacturing.

As the required electrolyte filling volume increases, electrolyte density changes caused by temperature variations can have a more noticeable influence on the actual filling volume.

The online real-time temperature compensation module continuously monitors temperature changes during the filling process and dynamically adjusts the relevant filling parameters.

This helps reduce filling deviations caused by temperature fluctuations and provides more consistent filling conditions for large-format cells.

Online Real-Time Pressure-Detecting Sensor: Monitoring and Compensating for Pressure Changes

Fluid control is another important consideration in high-flow electrolyte filling.

During high-speed filling, pipeline conditions can become more variable. Pipeline bending, multi-pump parallel operation, slight pipe wall blockage, and frequent equipment start-stop cycles may result in pressure fluctuations.

Excessive pressure may increase the risk of electrolyte leakage, cell contamination, or damage to valves and sealing components. Insufficient or unstable pressure can also affect electrolyte infiltration and filling consistency.

The CF200 / CF500 series is equipped with an online real-time pressure-detecting sensor designed to address these conditions.

The pressure-detection system provides three main functions:

Real-time pressure monitoring: The equipment continuously monitors pipeline pressure during operation and identifies abnormal pressure conditions.

Abnormal-condition warning and shutdown: When pressure exceeds the preset range, the system can issue an alarm and stop operation to help protect the production equipment and filling process.

Static pressure compensation: After equipment shutdown, the system can detect the remaining static pressure, calculate the pressure deviation, and compensate for the deviation during the next filling cycle.

These functions help reduce filling variations associated with pressure changes during equipment start-up and shutdown.

The system also records pressure data throughout the process, providing useful information for fault tracing, equipment maintenance, and production analysis.

Core Advantages of CF200 / CF500 for Large-Format Cell Production

      1. High-Flow Filling for Improved Production Efficiency

The CF200 / CF500 support high-flow output of 200–300 g/s and 500 g/s, respectively. When matched with dedicated DN10 / DN20 valves, the pumps provide higher filling capacity than the CF150 series.

For large-capacity cells, the higher flow rate can help shorten electrolyte filling time and optimize production line tact time, making the equipment suitable for high-volume energy storage and large-format power battery production.

      2. Standard Dual-Sensor Configuration for Easier Integration

The online temperature compensation module and pressure-detecting sensor are supplied as standard components.

This eliminates the need for additional external sensors or secondary equipment modification in the standard configuration. The compact structure also allows the pumps to be integrated into automated production lines where installation space may be limited.

      3. Smooth Liquid Delivery for Consistent Filling

      The CF200 / CF500 provide smooth, pulse-free high-flow liquid delivery.

Combined with the temperature-pressure dual closed-loop control system, this configuration helps maintain stable electrolyte delivery during high-speed filling and supports more consistent production of large-format cells.

Supporting Large-Format Cell Filling Process Upgrades

The increasing adoption of 500 Ah, 600 Ah, and 790 Ah cells is placing new demands on electrolyte filling equipment. Higher filling volumes require not only greater flow capacity but also better control of temperature and pressure variations throughout the process.

The FSH-CF200 / CF500 high-capacity constant-current filling pumps address these requirements through high-flow filling, online temperature compensation, real-time pressure detection, and dual closed-loop control.

For manufacturers upgrading production lines for large-capacity energy storage cells and power batteries, these functions provide a practical equipment option for improving filling efficiency and process stability.
