When buyers compare 4G industrial router brands, they often look at a single flagship model and judge the whole brand by it. In practice, most projects need more than one product: a compact unit for kiosks, a rugged one for vehicles, an outdoor unit for poles, a simple modem for legacy serial equipment. A brand is only as useful as the range behind it, and as consistent as the firmware and management that tie the range together.

This guide takes a tour of the E-Lins 4G line, family by family. For each one, it explains who it is for, what stands out, and where it is typically installed, then looks at what the models share.

      The Compact Family: H685t

      Who it is for

Equipment makers and integrators who need to fit connectivity into very small spaces: kiosks, vending machines, parcel lockers, robots and crowded control panels.

      What stands out

The H685t measures 100 × 60 × 21 mm in its case and weighs about 220 g without antennas. Its average power draw is around 2 W at 12V, and it accepts 5 to 40V DC as standard, with a wider range available. It provides a LAN and a WAN Ethernet port, with RS232 or RS485, I/O points, PoE and GPS available as options, and supports LTE FDD and TDD with downlink rates of up to 100, 150 or 300 Mbps depending on the module fitted. VPN support includes IPsec, L2TP, PPTP, GRE, WireGuard and DMVPN, and monitoring includes SNMP v1, v2 and v3.

      Typical installation

Inside a terminal or panel, mounted to whatever space is left, connected to the terminal PC by Ethernet and to an older controller by serial. OEM colour options and warranty extensions of up to five years are listed for this model. A PoE-powered variant, the H685t-P1, adds MQTT, and the H685-B board brings the same idea to board-level integration.

      The Multi-Port Family: H820t

      Who it is for

Small sites with several Ethernet devices that need one cellular uplink, such as a monitoring cabinet with a controller, a camera, and a sensor gateway.

      What stands out

Five Fast Ethernet ports, an RS232 port, Wi-Fi, and PoE In or Out. PoE variants extend the options: the H820t-P1 is powered by PoE and lists WireGuard and MQTT, while the H820t-P2 provides active PoE Out, Modbus, and DIN-rail mounting.

      Typical installation

A DIN rail in a field cabinet, often powering a camera or access point through PoE Out.

      The Rugged Gigabit Family: H900t

      Who it is for

Vehicles, bank branches, critical infrastructure, and any site where downtime is expensive.

      What stands out

The H900t is the E-Lins H900 Gigabit Industrial 4G Router. It offers dual SIM with primary and backup failover between carriers, Gigabit Ethernet, one or two serial ports, four DI/DO, USB, GPS/BeiDou and Wi-Fi options, in an IP30 alloy metal case designed for vibration and shock. It accepts 5 to 40V DC as standard, with a 5 to 60V DC option, through dual power inputs with automatic failover, and provides triple-link backup across cellular, wired, and Wi-Fi. For vehicles, it is ISO 7637-2 compliant and includes ignition sensing. A PoE Out variant, the H900t-P2, can power cameras directly.

      Typical installation

A bus or service vehicle, a branch communications cabinet, or a substation panel.

      The Dual-Link Family: H700, H750tt and H720

      Who it is for

Applications where a few seconds of SIM switchover is too long: live transactions, vehicles moving through patchy coverage, or sites that need two active connections.

      What stands out

The H700 and H750tt combine dual SIM with dual LTE, giving two independent cellular paths. The H700 is an LTE Cat 6 design with Gigabit Ethernet, USB, and a TF card slot. The H750tt adds RS232/RS485 for serial equipment, and the H720t models provide five Fast Ethernet ports with dual SIM. For equipment makers, the H720-B board combines dual 4G, dual SIM, five Fast Ethernet ports, and two serial ports, and E-Lins shows it in vehicle applications.

      Typical installation

Payment and transaction systems, public transport vehicles and high-availability monitoring points.

      The Outdoor Family: H820QOt

      Who it is for

Open-field and pole-mounted sites: water monitoring stations, street lighting controllers, traffic equipment and remote premises with weak coverage.

      What stands out

An IP68-rated enclosure that allows direct pole mounting without an extra protective box, built-in 14dBi high-gain antennas with reserved connectors for external antennas, an IEEE 802.3af/at PoE-powered device interface so a single cable carries power and data up the pole, single or dual SIM options, and optional GNSS.

      Typical installation

On a pole or mast, fed by one Ethernet cable from a cabinet at ground level.

      The Modem Family: M300, M400 and M300t

      Who it is for

Owners of legacy serial equipment who need a simple, dependable link to a central system.

      What stands out

RS232/RS485 to 4G conversion with serial transparent transmission, so PLCs and meters can be connected without changing their software. The M300t adds a wide-voltage DC input.

      Typical installation

Beside a PLC or meter in an existing panel, often as part of a retrofit programme.

      What the Whole Range Shares

A brand earns trust when its products behave consistently. Across the E-Lins 4G line:

Industrial hardware baseline. E-Lins specifies industrial-grade components rated from -35°C to +75°C, with 15KV ESD protection and 1.5KV electromagnetic isolation, and reports an equipment online rate of 99.5% or higher.

In-house firmware. System software developed entirely by E-Lins, with hardware watchdog timers, link self-healing, and lifetime free firmware upgrades.

One management approach. The web interface, Telnet, SSH, TR-069 and SNMP across the 4G router line, and the E-Lins NMS cloud platform for all industrial routers.

Industrial protocols. Modbus, TCP/IP and serial transparent transmission.

Path to 5G. The H685, H820 and H900 families also exist in 5G and 5G RedCap versions, so a site can move up without changing how it is installed or managed.

      The Brand Behind the Range

Shenzhen E-Lins Technology Co., Ltd. introduced full 4G LTE product lines in its 2013 to 2018 development phase, after starting in the industrial sector in 1999 with modems for power grids and oil fields. Its 4G equipment has been proven at scale: more than 100,000 units for a leading Indian telecom operator at a 99.4% online rate, a European ground support equipment fleet at 99.9% or higher, and a Scandinavian public transport network with network interruption at 0.3%. Its products carry CE, FCC, and UKCA certification, comply with RoHS, and customers in more than 150 countries and regions are supported around the clock.

When you compare 4G industrial router brands, look past the flagship. Ask how the whole range covers your site types, and whether one firmware platform and one management system tie it together.
